Crieff Highland Gathering is widely known as “Scotland’s Premier Highland Games” but not just for the Games themselves. Crieff has always been at the forefront of new and modern ideas, indeed Crieff Highland Gathering was the first to introduce the “special attraction” which could range from acrobats to animals right through to motorbike display teams.
Eventually though, these had “seen their day” and something new was required. “Borrowing” an idea from our sister games in Ohio, where they have more of a Celtic music feel throughout the day, the idea of a mini music festival alongside the Games was discussed. In a joint partnership with our local distillery Glenturret, the Glenturret Music Tent was formed. Well received by locals and visitors alike this area goes from strength to strength, showcasing some of the top acts in Scotland such as Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Braebach and Clanadonia, as well as introducing an international flavour with top vocalist Charlie Zahm all the way from the USA.
This year will be no different with some great acts signed up to appear on stage. Remember to bring your dancing shoes, you’re going to need them!!
An addition to the many attractions already provided is the Taste of Tartan Marquee. The marquee will by occupied by local businesses from Crieff and Strathern and provide them with an opportunity to showcase the high quality food and drink available in the area.
